So the cat is out of the bag. Harold and I are adding to our pasture. We came home with two donkey yesterday from the same rescue that Aries came from. They were both seized from a neglect case up in Bailey's Harbor and were placed at Midwest Horse available for adoption. They are very sweet. Shaggy, the big dark girl that Harold is holding is very shy and nervous since she has never been handled. The little girl that I am holding has been renamed Harmony. Her rescued name was Hermione but that is just too much for me, and I am just not a fan of Harry Potter. She is incredibly friendly and seeks out attention. They arrived home with us yesterday and are in a small paddock attached to the barn. In less than 24 hours they have come a long way. Shaggy actually lets us catch her and attach a lead (something we struggled with yesterday) and have given her a good grooming. Harmony gets jealous when Shaggy gets too much attention and chases her away so that she can get some loving.
Also... we are adding a Percheron mare in a couple of weeks. She is a beautiful, big, black 17.1h draft mare that is coming from my former farrier. She is broke to ride and drive. There is just something about those bigguns. She should be here some time in June. Her name is Fill, or Phil, or Fel, we are not sure. It is short for Felicity and pronounced Phil. No pictures of her yet but once she gets here... well it is a warning that there might be picture overload...
So any of my animal loving relatives... come and venture out to our farm and see our pasture family.

Donkeys? How incredibly COOL!
I can't wait to meet Shaggy and Harmony (love her name change).
And Felicity sounds as though she could be the center of attention when she arrives.
