Look who we visited at work today! I just wanted to see my Uncle Pat, and since momma had to get horse feed anyways, she figured that we would venture a little farther to see him... and to go to Old Navy. I even showed Uncle Pat my big grin to let him know how happy I was to see him again

Oh, to be able to sleep like a baby. Jacob has learned his bed hogging habits from his dad, just for the record.

Jacob went to his first tractor pull today. Well, sort of. We went in the early afternoon to so that Jacob could visit the cute girls that daddy is friends with but we left before the pulls started.

Jacob and his dogs

The four of us were just hanging out together on the floor. Life is good

Greta was in her glory being a pillow for her boy. She was so happy that he was by her, she wouldn't even move a muscle. Not even her tail.

Jacob has his two week old check yesterday. Everything was wonderful. His hospital screenings all came back normal. He weighed in at a whopping 8lb 12oz, which makes me a very happy momma. He measured 21 3/4 inches, so he is definitely a growing boy. He even has chubby cheeks now.
I was looking for a disc for my camera that wasn't full, and as I was doing so, I came across a picture of my nephew Brady when he was about 3 weeks old at Christmas. Now, I think Jacob completely resembles his dad. But I thought that I would post both pictures just to see if there is any similarities to my family.... I still don't think so....
And Jack just wants everyone to remember how exhausting it is to have to babysit Jacob all the time. It completely wears him out.

Nothing much new to report. Jacob is a daddy's boy, big surprise. He is much more content now that he is eating from a bottle. He is sleeping about 3 1/2 to 4 hours at a time at night, so I am much happier.

Jacob and daddy had a nice rest after we spent a couple of hours at the Oakfield Corn Roast. Jacob got to meet lots of people, but as can be expected, he slept through all of it.

It is tough having to baby sit

Can you see how hard it is to baby sit Jacob? It is simply exhausting.

A few more pictures of those who visited Jacob

Can't quite figure out home to get these pictures in the right order. Oh, well. Jacob's dr appointment went well yesterday. He gained 5 oz since Saturday and now weighs 7lb 11oz. The dr didn't feel there was a need to check his biliruben again. Yay! He is sleeping good and eating and pooping as he should. He is a very good baby!

My cousin Luke seemed pretty cool. And Great Grandma Mc just loves to hold me. I like that.

I need to lay out in the sun since I had a little bit of jaundice. I found out that Jack likes to sun bathe also, so when Momma was doing laundry, he joined me in catching some rays.

Here I am ready to go home... finally.

Daddy and I are happy to be home and relax.

I got to meet Greta and Jack. They have been waiting for a while to meet me. They were a little timid to go by me at first but now they like me a lot.

Here is my cousin, Olivia.

And my other cousin, Luke and his mommy, Aunt Shannon

A few of Jacob's first visitors

Thank you to everyone who made it to the hospital. It made the time go fast for me, which is a huge blessing. I have many more pictures of those that stopped at the hospital but I am still trying to figure out Harold's camera. As soon as I do, I will share those also.

As long as Jacob stays as quiet as he has been, I will get more pictures up today, hopefully.

Jacob Michael is here!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that Jacob has finally decided it was time to join the rest of us. He was born July 30th at 4:50 p.m. He weighed 8 lb 2 oz and was 20.5 inches long and came after about a 16 hour labor. I was scheduled to be induced 7:00 am on Wednesday after I went to my dr appointment on Tuesday and there was nothing happening. I was not dialated or thinning at all and Dr Miller thought Jacob was getting to be quite big so Harold and I left the appointment and attempted to get everything done that needed to be done before morning. After having dinner with parents we headed back to Harold's for what was going to be a very long night of waiting. Or not. Jacob decided that he wanted to do this on his own terms. My water broke at about 11:00 pm. Harold and I made it to the emergency room at about 12:30 a.m. At first it appeared that this might be a fast labor since I went from 1-5 in about 4 hours. I got my glorious epidural at about 6:00 am and then slept through the rest of my labor, how nice is that? Finally, at about 2:00 I was dialated to 9 but my contractions were very irregular, so I received some pitocin. At 4:30, I was given the go ahead to start pushing. Jacob's heart rate had dropped significantly, to less than 60, so Dr.Miller had to vaccuum extract, but at 4:50, our healthy, crying baby joined us. He is as healthy as can be, other than a touch of jaundice, which is going to be rechecked today. We went home yesterday afternoon and are beginning to adjust to life with a baby. Needless to say, we are both as proud as proud could be.
