First day of day care

Here is Jacob heading off to his first day of daycare. He was a very good boy and didn't seemed bothered at all by spending the day with strangers. I couldn't wait to get him picked up. I missed my boy. And work stinks!

Trick or Treat

Well, folks. This is it. My maternity leave is coming to an end. I go back to work tomorrow. That makes me quite sad and I do have to say I am a bit stressed about how it is all going to go tomorrow morning getting out of the house and getting Jacob to daycare and me to work on time.
With that being said, this is just a gentle warning that I am betting I won't be spending much time uploading pictures. Don't worry. I will still make sure that I take lots of pictures, but I just can't say how frequently I will be able to post.

Anyways, today was trick or treating in Fondy. The weather was horrible. I did plan on making a few stops with Jacob dressed up but the weather but a major damper on that. So we just went to Grandpa Tim and Grandma Mary's house so Jacob could hang out with his cousins.
Jacob really did like being an orange pumpkin until his daddy told him that he looked goofy.

Jacob is much happier just wearing his halloween onesie and pumpkin sock hanging out with Olivia.

We have Luke as Thomas the Train, Olivia the angel, Baby Jacob, and Brady Boy who was a giraffe but ditched the costume before we got there. And Lu dog as herself. We will pretend that Grandma is not in the picture since she didn't want to be.

Who wanted to be Thomas the Train for Halloween?

Jacob had a big weekend. He and Grandma Mary came down to Milwaukee with me on Friday since I was standing up in a wedding for one of my best friends, Betsy. He was such a good baby the whole entire time.

Here is Jacob and Grandma. We took a walk to the lake front on Saturday morning and stopped for a morning snack.
Daddy and his boy sure look cute all dress up, don't they?
The wedding was at the Milwaukee Art Muesum. It was simply goregous. Here are a few pictures from the reception.
Mom, me and Dad.

I think Harold was afraid of me. Hair done and make up on, and in a dress! I am not sure Harold has ever seen me quite this way. I was definitely out of my safety zone, but it was fun

Finally, I made Harold agree to take a nice picture of the three of us.

Good, but tiring weekend

Jack finished out his weekend very well. He placed 2nd in Novice Standand with a clean run and 3rd in Jumpers. His standard run was better than Saturday's, and he saved my ass a few times in Jumpers ending up with a refusal when I couldn't figure out which way I was going. So, all in all, I am just thrilled with how well Jack did. Couldn't ask for anything better. So he has 2 legs in each class. Only one more to go! No pictures from Sunday though, since I think everyone that trialed was exhausted by the end of the day.

I started my morning very early so I could get my homework done before going to the trial. The Sunrise was just beautiful so I thought I would go out and take a picture of it, but Harold's camera is for someone much more digitally intellgent than I am. But the horses wanted to know what I was doing outside so early. So they took a break from their all you can eat buffet to visit me.

Shithead. He doesn't look good. We just can't get any weight on him, which makes me very nervous with winter coming.
After the trial, I went to mom and dad's for dinner with Grandma and Aunt Ann and Uncle Cort. Olivia, Luke and Brady were there also. We decided to do a four generation picture. Looking my best after a long, hot day out in the sun...
And here are the trial photographer's pictures from Saturday's Standard run. They are not great but it was Jack's first qualifying run so I had to get them. Look at those crazy eyes!

Brag Day!!!!!

I had an awesome day. I am not ashamed to say it. And after a couple of not so happy weeks, I felt that today was well deserved. I spent all day yesterday working at the Fond du Lac County Kennel Club's Excellent only agility trial. It was tiring. I have worked plenty of dog shows, but yesterday kicked my ass. Something about having to still go home and take care of a baby added that much more exhaustion to the day. So today was a bit better since we had a bunch of kids that need community service hours work. So I got to watch a lot of excellent handlers run some very impressive dogs. And I also got to see how well all of this summer's lessons paid off. Jack' standard run wasn't beautiful. In fact it was kinda painful for me as the handler, but he still qualified. Even better, he took 2nd. He had a refusal at the tire as he went under the tire instead of thru the tire, then in an attempt to correct, he went thru the tire the wrong way which gave us the wrong course fault, but he did it right the second time around. His weaves were kinda of ugly but the glory of running novice.... they aren't faulted. So he was two seconds over course time due to weaves, but overall he still Q'ed with an 88/100 and good enough for 2nd. But only two dogs in his class qualified. I was jumping for joy!!!!
So after standards came Jumpers. I hate Jumpers. Jack is too fast for me to keep up with him. I am too novice of a handler. Let me tell you how much quicker one can move when she is not 7, 8, 9 months pregnant.... Apparently, handling might be a tad bit easier not being pregnant...Notice that Jack added a BLUE! to his Red ribbon. I was on cloud nine!!!

Here are the rest of Ronda's students from this summer class. Notice how many blues are present? Tells you how good our instructor is! Thank you Ronda! L-R, there is Bev and her Golden, Cami, me and Jack, Ronda, Stephanie and her Sheltie, Piper, and Marianne, and her Golden, Shiloh.

So, hopefully, we are all smiles again tomorrow. Who knows? Those dogs are crazy and one will never know what they will do...... I will let you know....

A visit to Grandma's

We visited Grandma Mary today. She was babysitting Luke and Brady and we were still there when Aunt Shannon came to pick them up.

Nothing new

It has been pretty quiet out at the Haney Farm. I realized I never did an update on Jacob's 2 month check. He weighed 12lb 8oz, and was 24 1/2 inches long. Everything else seemed good. We finally got an antibiotic ointment for Jacob's plugged tear duct so hopefully his goopy eye will get better soon. We have had a few rough days after grandma's funeral where Jacob was really fussy, but it seems like he is back on track and happy as he normally is. The best news yet??? Jacob has been sleeping through the night for almost 2 weeks now! Now, his momma has to figure out how to do the same. Gosh, habits are hard to break. I have been getting up in the middle of the night for at least the last 6 months or so.
On a different note, for those who care about my ventures with my goofy dogs, Jack is going to be trialing this coming weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, in agility at the Fond du Lac County Kennel Club Clubhouse. This is his 2nd agility trial. His first one was a learning experience. In April I thought it was a good idea to see what Jack remembered from agility classes the September before. I was (but not admitting) a nervous wreck, and all Jack wanted to do was sniff the gound and chase leaves. It is pretty hard to weave with your nose to the ground. Anyways, I am hoping for a better go around this time, since Jack and I suffered through a hot summer and a very uncoordinated pregnancy to keep taking lessons from Ronda. Let's hope he can prove that he learned a lot. And hopefully his handler can get get a grip on her nerves and not trip over her own feet.
Also, another happy note for me, I got on my horse last weekend. I worked Cappy for a short while and then while Harold had him on a lead rope, I got on him. It is the first time I have been on my own horse. I bought him last September as an unbroke 4 year old and then 2 months later I was pregnant. So, now a year later, I have finally been on my horse! How awesome is that? He was a good boy. And I really should take a few riding lessons to get a good, proper riding form again.
Anyway, here are some random pictures of Jacob. Greta is still infatuated with Jacob and rather protective when need be.

Lazy Sunday

Jack, Greta and I went to dump apples for deer. Jack was happy. Greta showed she is getting old. She stopped half way down the lane. She didn't want to run anymore. So I went back and picked her up. She rode with me for the rest of the way.

Jacob getting his nap in so he can watch the football game with Daddy.

Aren't I cute in my Packer clothes?
Sitting like a big boy watching the game. Packers scored! Jacob is happy!

The cows got some apples before we headed out to feed the deer.

Here is Champ, one of the bulls. He wanted to make sure that he got his fair share of apples.

So I was trying to get a nice picture of Champ. He is a big boy but I was a bit slow, and Champ decided to show me what bulls do best....
Here are the youngest of the herd. The one the left I call Red Bull and the one on the right I call Red Bull White Ass (I got to see him be born). Some day, they will be called dinner.
