He is my child!

There are days when there is doubt whether Jacob is mine because there is nothing McNamara about him. He is the spitting image of his daddy in every which way. Until last night that is. Jacob seems to think beer is yummy! His daddy does not like beer all that much. Glad to see that there is some good irish blood in this boy.
The boys just lounging watching Sponge Bob.

Jacob really thinks that his older cousin Luke is pretty cool. He can't wait until he can move around better so that he can keep up with Luke.
Luke loves his baby cousin.
Happy Birthday, Uncle Tyler!
Olivia enjoying dunkin her oreos in milk. Umm.... my favorite cookies.

Jacob finds time to hang out with Uncle Patrick.
Umm... does Grandpa like Sponge Bob as much as Olivia does?

Our overdue 6 month check up

Jacob's dr appointment went very well. He is a string bean being almost 29 inches long and only 18lb 4oz. His height is int he 95th percentile and his weight in the 50th. Dr. Daisy seems to think that he is just going to be a tall, skinny boy. Everything else checked out beautifully and the poor kid had to get 4 shots.

Since daddy is out salting, I figured I would see what he thought of his daddy's not so favorite food, broccoli. Not a huge success, but not an all out refusal either, but Jacob was more interested in playing with his new teeth tonight. His 2nd tooth has come through. It is impossible to get a cute, toothy grin from an almost 7 month old child.

Busy but Boring

Everyday life has kept us busy. Work has been stressful for me, and Harold is laid off. The cows are still dumb (and tasty) and Shithead still lives on death's doorstep but refused to give up just yet. Jack and Greta are incredibly bored with winter and cannot wait until spring is truly here and they can go play in the mud. Jacob is changing everyday and keeps us entertained. He is such a goofy baby.

Someone is enjoying a nap almost naked is his favorite fuzzy brown blanket

Shannon found a roll of film of mine from 2002, so I had to share just a few. First the first Lab on my life, Moby. Now that was one hell of a dog. Moby and his son, Carbon, died September 13, 2003. And then Greta with the first man of her life.

And a teeny, tiny baby Olivia. Can you believe that she is going to 7 years old in just over a month?

I hope that everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather as much as we did. Jacob wasn't sure why his daddy and I liked this weather. He seemed to think it was still cold. His trips outside were short thanks to the wind but he still enjoyed a little bit of sunshine.

Nothing real exciting happening right now so just a quick smile

Not sure how well this will upload. I am very challenged on how to use Harold's camera but it was beautiful out to night with the moon being almost full and the sky very clear. The moonlight was reflecting so brightly off of the ice down in the marsh. Some day I am going to figure out how to use this camera. If anyone has any ideas let me know...

Farm girl, I am not.

What a week, I guess. I can't believe that Jacob is officially 6 months old. We celebrated his 1/2 year birthday by going out for fish with Grandpa Ed and Grandma Helen. We had a great time. Daddy thought Jacob should celebrate with some french fries, but momma was a party pooper and said no.

Well, this past Wednesday was Scrappy and the Old Bag's date with doom as I affectionate termed it. Harold hauled them to Beck's to be butchered. As I was leaving for work, Harold said, "Say goodbye to Scrappy" and I cried. So call me a wuss, a girlie-girl, or whatever, I did not like the idea of him going there. I know it has to be done but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. So, anyways, anyone looking for some lean meat, let us know. The butcher seemed to think that both animals looked good, so we may have more than just ground beef that Marjean is looking to sell. We'll miss you Scrappy.

Jacob has been busy this week. Other than just being a 1/2 year old, he has mastered rolling back and forth and can cover quite a distance on the floor this way. He also has gone from sitting like a monkey with his hands in the ground in front of him, to sitting up big and strong. That happened over night, I swear.

Jacob is still a Packer fan, no matter who is playing in the Super Bowl. Please don't pay attention to the very cluttered, messy room. That was completely secondary to trying to get all three to sit for a picture.

Jacob and Greta are still the best of friends.
